DigiBarn Docs: Apple II DOS Source Code Listings The following are two original source code listings of Apple II "Shep" DOS as written by Paul Laughton in the Spring/Summer of 1978 for the final delivery of Apple II DOS in the Fall of 1978. The earlier listing is dated June 2, 1978 and the later one is dated October 6, 1978. Note some of Paul Laughton's entertaining comments to the right of the 6502 code lines. These documents chronicle how "Apple Booted Up" and delivered its first operating system to support the innovative disc drive that Steve Wozniak had designed over the Christmas/New Years of 1977/78. We are seeking folks to help us scan the two source code listings making them ready to be OCRed, then released on the site such that the community can then assemble and run the binaries of two versions of original pre-release Apple II DOS. Contact us if you would be willing to help!. |
