K-E Slide Rule

The following is a K-E slide rule issued to officers at West Point (thanks Daniel Dugan). Dan writes of this fine slide rule:

It is the type issued at West Point in the fifties and it always hung from my belt going to and from the many Math and Engineering courses. All of the students in engineering schools those days had them attached almost as appendages. They were as ubiquitous as back packs today.

Note from the curator: this brings to mind that this slide rule in such a fine leather case might resemble a scabbard harkoning back to prior students at West Point.
